tongue with a piercing

If you've just had your tongue pierced, it's important that you choose foods carefully during the first few weeks to help with healing and avoid irritation.

Here are some tips on the type of foods you can eat:

  1. Cold, soft foods: Foods such as ice cream, smoothies, puddings, yogurt and cold soups are great options to eat during the first 24-48 hours after piercing.

  2. Soft, lump-free foods: foods such as mashed potatoes, cooked rice, pasta, scrambled eggs and cooked fish are good options for the healing period.

  3. Liquid foods: Drinks such as water, fresh juices, iced teas and isotonic drinks can help keep you hydrated and provide necessary nutrients.

  4. Foods without strong seasonings: Foods with strong seasonings such as pepper, hot sauces and vinegar can cause pain or irritation on the tongue.

Avoid crunchy foods, such as crackers, nuts, chips, and foods that are difficult to chew, such as red meat, during the healing process, as they can become lodged in the piercing or cause tongue irritation.

Furthermore, it is important to maintain adequate oral hygiene and avoid alcohol and tobacco consumption during the healing period to ensure a quick and healthy recovery. Always consult the studio if you have any questions or concerns about your tongue piercing.
